# Send bot to link

> Sends the AI note-taker bot to a video-conference link right now. The meeting doesn't need a calendar event. For a meeting on your calendar, use [Schedule bot](/api-reference/meetings/schedule-bot) instead.

The request is processed asynchronously. A `202` means the request was accepted, not that the bot has joined. The response includes the `meeting_id` that the recording and transcript will appear under, which is also the ID that `meeting.transcript_ready` webhooks carry. If the bot can't be created, that meeting never appears.

If your note-taker is already scheduled for, joining, or in the same call (including one booked for a calendar event), that bot is kept and no second bot is sent. In that case the returned `meeting_id` won't resolve. Find the meeting with [List meetings](/api-reference/meetings/list-meetings) instead. Limited to 10 requests per minute and 60 per hour per user.
